No. In contrast with hardware-heavy access point or mesh networks, 5G Wireless uses an ‘outside/in’ approach that significantly reduces the amount of installation required. Our Base Stations are installed by our Authorized Partners in conjunction with our experienced installation specialists.

How affordable are 5G Wireless Base Stations?
Very. When you consider total cost of ownership (TCO), 5G Wireless networks are extremely competitive. Less hardware means less maintenance, and correspondingly less of your time and money to keep your wireless broadband solution up and running.

Are 5G Wireless Base Stations compatible with industry standards?
Not only are 5G Wireless Base Stations compatible with today’s standards like 802.11, we also keep a very close eye on future standards like WiMAX, which will provide additional backhaul capacity for the 5G Wireless Base Stations. We also anticipate that over next decade that the costs and the technology of WiMax will mature to a point were it will be used in a distribution system and in a network topography that is similar to the 5G Wireless Base Station. This will allow our clients to easily upgrade their networks.

What applications can 5G Wireless Base Stations support?
There are no restrictions on what applications or content can be sent over our Base Stations. You set the rules and our architecture provides the transport mechanism.

Can my users connect to a 5G Wireless network using a regular 802.11b/g card?
Absolutely. Assuming that you have configured your network to allow open access, your users do not need any special hardware to get online.

Are 5G Wireless’ products only for campuses?
No. Our products are used in a wide variety of applications. Everything from racetracks through to nursing homes.
